Shapton ceramic sharpening stones combine extremely fast cutting action with low maintenance and less flattening. Shapton stones are created using a hardened ceramic powder suspended in a resin binder. This approach to manufacturing sharpening stones has enabled Shapton to produce a state-of-the-art product.
Shapton GlassStoneŽ may appear thin at first glance but, don't let that fool you. They will out last most other stones that are three times the thickness. These abrasives are extremely uniform. Consistency is the primary goal for Shapton's engineers. The abrasive that you encounter with the first pass will be the same on the 5,000th pass. And, this will be true for every abrasive size. These are brand new to the market and although made in Japan are not yet introduced in Japan. Do not store in water. Simply spray with water and use. These stones are ideally suited to American and German steels.
