This is THE annual event that scissor sharpeners from all over the world. Last year's event was the largest event of it's kind for scissor sharpeners in the world. There is no charge to attend our two day meetings. However, there are charges for additional classes and entertainment.

SUNDAY July 25 FREE Events
  • Morning Inspiration 8:00 AM
    Hear Andy Priest, Simpy Sharp tell how he has overcome his challenges of being wheelchair bound with limited hand motion to be a successful sharpener. Also enjoy praise and worship led by fellow sharpeners. Don’t miss this time of spiritual inspiration.
  • Sharpeners Jam 9:15 AM - 3.30PM
    All sharpeners will share their best idea that has helped their business or bring a problem area for discussion. Categories include sales, marketing, sharpening innovations, organization, increase efficiencies and more. Be prepared to share with the others. Prizes for best ideas.
  • Sharp N Share 7:00 PM
    Come see how some of your fellow sharpeners set up their equipment and sharpen in the salon. Visit among the sharpeners, ask questions and make friends. Free Nipper sharpening demonstration. Snacks and soft drinks provided.

MONDAY July 26 FREE events
  • How Shears Are Made Speaker: Casper Kizer, plant supervisor for Oster will answer your questions from a background manufacturing Arius-Eickert Shears. You will understand how all the steps in the scissor making process fit together to make the perfect edge. You will also hear tips on how to recreate that original edge. Bring your questions.
  • cosmetology School Goldmines Speaker:Gene Megowan Sales Director for Bonika Shears will share his expertise in selling shears to cosmetology schools and cosmetology students. This is a source of gold in a recession market for all sharpeners.
  • Sharpening a Fishbone Shear Speaker: Bonnie Megowan of Bonika Shears will demonstrate how to sharpen a Fishbone shear using the Scimech Flathone. This razor back style shear has become more popular so it is important you know how to sharpen them.

Sunday - Monday
 Shop til you drop during sessions, between and after sessions in a separate room next door to the lecture hall. We will have all our sharpening equipment and supplies including the Sumach Scissors Flat Hone, Clipper Hones and Knife Sharpeners on display and available for sale. Shop directly for just the right bumper or screw. We will also have closeout bargains and seconds for sale. Items purchased at the meetings will be shipped home for you free of charge or available for immediate delivery. Other tables from other vendors will be here as well including Nebraska Blades, Kenchii Shears, Conair, BaylissPro, Forfex, ProLine Shears KP PLan Korean Shears, Kretzer German Scissors, Belson Products and more.
