Learn to Sharpen

sharpening.jpgHow many beauty shops are in your area? Did you know that beauty shear sharpeners can earn a serious income? Work full or part-time and earn over $200.00 per day. Stylist pay immediately $20 to $30 per shear with cash and credit card. They have an average of 4 shears sharpened two to three times per year and buy more shears from their sharpeners. This is a one person business opportunity with little or no overhead and very low start-up cost. Travel and set-up inside the beauty salons, no need to buy a van.

Why learn from Bonika Shears?

Bonnie Megowan has been sharpening primarily in the beauty business for over 25 years. In that time she has trained over 400 sharpeners throughout the USA and other foreign countries. Formally a high school science teacher, Bonnie has a talent for taking a complex task and breaking it down into it's components to make it simple. Her teaching style is hands-on.

In 1997 the first Bonika Shear was debut on the market. Shortly afterwards, Bonnie realized that a shear is only as great as the sharpener who maintains it for the stylist. In order to keep their brand of shears cutting beautifully for sometimes decades, three years later Bonnie began designing and selling the Scimech flathone. It was fashioned to perform like the equipment used to manufacture Bonika Shears with an emphasis on making it easy to learn and operate as well as comfortable to use. The original Scimech is still in service and the Scimech HD Flathone of today has evolved to be even smoother, easier to use, less vibration and sturdier than the subsequent machines. It is the standard of the industry and is the machine that Bonnie used in the National Beauty Tool Sharpeners Guild certification in 2012 and became not only the first woman to achieve Master Level sharpening status, but was also the highest score in the country that year.

We are proud of the Sciemch HD. We recommend that you download our free complete information package. This will help you sort through the confusion of the process of starting your own salon and groomer sharpening business.
