Belinda Baker is the Educational Director for McBride Industries, the manufacturers of Design Essentials Products. She trains educators and organizes training classes for Design Essential distributors. Belinda first began working with McBride when her salon was one of a consortium of five salons in Atlanta, Georgia chosen to operate the Olympic Village Hair Salon in 1996. Belinda perfected her techniques of addressing the needs of multi-cultural hair as she trained the four stylist teams to meet the daunting challenge of producing “gold medal” results for clients from 197 countries. She currently travels extensively conducting seminars for Design Essentials nationally and internationally while maintaining an active multi-cultural personal client base that places her as the highest dollar producer in her salon. Belinda’s passion for improving the lives of cosmetologists through motivation and training has created a following throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Her clear verbal explanations, terminology and descriptions of intricate advanced cutting techniques and understanding of multicultural needs has delighted audiences. She dazzled attendees at Atlanta’s Bronner Brothers Show and New York IBS Show where she appeared as guest platform artist for Bonika Shears. Belinda is featured in the Tools, Textures and Techniques video series of multicultural hair cutting as well as Concepts of Illusion video series on simple hair weave techniques. She was also the host of Hair Talk, an infomercial by Design Essentials. Belinda is married to her business partner Dennis West of Baker-West International.
